We want to support and motivate our employees, who are devoted to taking care of others, to take care of themselves.

Based on the input from our employees, we crated the HealthyUH wellness program, to offer more opportunities to achieve incentives in the three most important areas of wellness: Exercise, Engagement and Education.

  • Exercise: Staying active is critical to maintaining your overall health and wellness
  • Engagement: Making connections with others and your community is an important part of taking care of yourself
  • Education: Paying attention and keeping informed on health information that matters to you will empower you to take better care of yourself

UH employees and their spouses each can continue to earn wellness incentives of up to $600 per year if you participate in the UH medical plan or, for employees not on the UH medical plan, UH Appreciates points.  Earn up to 150 points each quarter by engaging in various health-related activities, by earning 50 points in each wellness area.

To enhance the wellness experience and benefits, we are providing you and your spouse or same sex domestic partner with a complimentary FitBit Zip.

In addition, the following UH-sponsored classes will be provided at no cost to UH employees:

An eight-week interactive workshop designed to help improve your ability to react positively to stress.
An eight-week interactive workshop designed to improve your ability to focus and positively impact your overall health.
A nutrition, physical activity, and behavioral modification education program.
An educational course providing training on tobacco cessation techniques.
A fitness program teaching participants synchronized dance movements to all types of music.


Completion of these classes will qualify participants for their quarterly wellness incentives.
