Why Choose a PCP?
A PCP serves as your first point of entry into the health care system. A PCP provides, coordinates and helps you find all the health care services you need. Choosing a PCP creates a relationship that benefits you – with coordinated routine care (e.g. wellness and preventive care) and comprehensive treatment of chronic problems. Services provided by a PCP include health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses.
To help promote primary care, all UH employees and their covered dependents enrolled in the UH Medical Plan are encouraged to select a PCP during open enrollment for 2012 benefits.
